More inventory space?

As an adventurer you’ll need a lot of inventory space to hold all your rewards, loot, equipment, supplies and gifts. These take up an incredible amount of space, and you frequently tossing out items to make room for more. I wrote this guide to help people realize that getting a bit more inventory space isn’t that hard.

Your bag

When you start out as an adventurer you recieve a bag that can hold items taking up to 30 slots. But with some help from a friendly Goblin in Jeuno, you can get yourself an even bigger bag. How? By getting Gobbiebags from Bluffnix (H-9, Muckvix’s Junk Shop) in Lower Jeuno.

The Gobbiebag Part I

Fame needed: Jeuno Reputation 2
Items needed: Dhalmel Leather, Linen Cloth, Peridot and Steel Ingot

The Gobbiebag Part II

Fame needed: Jeuno Reputation 4
Items needed: Mythril Ingot, Ram Leather, Turquoise and Wool Cloth

The Gobbiebag Part III

Fame needed: Jeuno Reputation 5
Items needed: Gold Ingot, Painite, Tiger Leather and Velvet Cloth

The Gobbiebag Part IV

Fame needed: Jeuno Reputation 5
Items needed: Cermet Chunk, Darksteel Ingot, Goshenite and Silk Cloth

The Gobbiebag Part V

Fame needed: Jeuno Reputation 6
Items needed: Bugard Leather, Moblinweave, Paktong Ingot and Rhodonite

The Gobbiebag Part VI

Fame needed: Jeuno Reputation 6
Items needed: Balloon Cloth, High Quality Eft Skin, Iolite and Shakudo Ingot

Yes, some of these are quite expensive, but that’s the price you have to pay for being such a greedalox. Oh, and these items can be found in the Clothcrafting, Goldsmithing, Leathercrafting and Smithing sections on the Auction House. You should ask your friends to help you obtain these items or make them for or with you though since some of them can be quite expensive.

Completing the gobbiebag quests will increase your inventory space from a mere 30 to 60 slots.

Your mog house

Moogle gets tired of being alone all the time and wants to go on a vacation. Your little moogle will ask you nicely if she can take a vacation after you put a new bed in your house. But she can’t go home without bringing presents for her friends and family.

Give a Moogle a Break

Bed: Bronze Bed
Minimum Fame Level: 3
Items needed: Beetle Ring and Power Bow

The Moogle’s Picnic!

Bed: Mahogany Bed
Minimum Fame Level: 5
Items needed: Selbina Butter and Shrimp Lure

Moogles in the Wild

Bed: Noble’s Bed
Minimum Fame Level: 7
Items needed: Raptor Mantle and Wool Hat

Now, before the regional tally each week, try putting your new bed in your mog house (need to lay it out). After the tally the Moogle will ask you if she can go home to the Moogle Village. Give her the items she asks for and she will leave your house until the next earth day. But no need to worry, she will ask another moogle to take care of your house in the meantime.

Completing the storage quests will upgrade your Mog Safe from 50 to 80 slots!

Locker

One of the «benefits» of being an employee of the mercenary company “Salaheem’s Sentinels”:http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Salaheem’s_Sentinels is the Mog Locker. It’s a service that lets you store items for a fee. The items deposited will be safely guarded, but you won’t get access to the items unless you pay the lease. The items inside the locker, however, are not lost when the lease runs out.

The initial capacity is 30 slots, but it can this number can be increased to 80. Fubruhn, an elvaan NPC outside Aht Urghan Whitegate Residential Area manages the Mog Locker.

Expansion to 40 slots

Trade 4× Imperial Mythril Pieces to Fubruhn

Expansion to 50 slots

Trade 2× Imperial Gold Pieces to Fubruhn

Expansion to 60 slots

Trade 3× Imperial Gold Pieces to Fubruhn

Expansion to 70

Trade 5× Imperial Gold Pieces to Fubruhn

Expansion to 80

Trade 10× Imperial Gold Pieces to Fubruhn

You need to wait to the next conquest tally to complete the next expansion.

Furrrniture!

But we aren’t quite done with your moghouse yet. It’s time to put some furniture in your moghouse. Go check out the Auction House for inexpensive furniture that gives 2-5 spaces of storage and buy them. Try to find furniture that doesn’t take up too much space in your moghouse though.

Water Jugs can hold up to two items and can be bought over at Scamplix in Rabao for around 184 gil. Now, with 40 of these you get 80 slots. Remember though, the things you put in your Storage can only be accessed from your home city. Or you could get a “Cabinet:“http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Cabinet or a Commodes which gives you 4 storage slots each.

By decorating your moghouse you can get plenty more space.
Inventory + Mog Safe + Mog Locker + Furniture = 60 + 80 + 80 + (80 – 40) = 260 slots. Not bad!

I recommend putting things you don’t use very often in here. Ingredients, rewards, gifts and so on.

Equipment Storage NPCs

There are a few Equipment Storage NPCs spread across Vana’diel that can watch over some of your armor while you are adventuring. These people are really great if you have multiple artifact sets. Talk with one of them for a list of equipment they accept.

Merchant mules

Get yourself some mules for even more inventory space. Some people like to have one merchant mule in every city to have quick access to all the auction houses. Keep in mind though that it can be both hard to keep track of where everything is if you have multiple merchants working for you, and that it takes time moving things around.

Complete one or more of the abovementioned steps and you will have plenty of space to keep your things.

Do I really need everything?

Ask yourself: «do I really need all this?» I’m sure you have a lot of equipment. Items you use when you help people fight their mission 2-3 dragon, promyvion gear or maybe even some ballista gear? Do you really need it all? Try to sit down and see if there are anything you can sell or even give away. I’m sure a lot of other adventurers would be really happy if you gave them some of your used gear.

If you have some cheap equipment you won’t be using for awhile, sell it. That way you’ll free up quite a lot of space.
