Paced
After having taken it very easy these past two weeks, I can now finally find my way back to the Boyahda Tree on my ever hunt for a purrrdy camp and a few pets to pat on the head. I find my job just more and more exciting, although I need to work very hard to get my level as a Beastmaster. That’s to expected though I guess, since I prefer to get my experience on my own.
I’ve received quite a few invites as a Beastmaster, asking me to join various experience parties, but I’ve declined them since I want to stand on my very own two feet. The different camps I get to set up in a a variety of places and dungeons make it even more fun as I get to explore parts of an area where I normally don’t go very often. On the other hand, the suspense can get a tad too high for my liking at times, so sticking to areas where people may find your knocked out body may prove both useful and time saving in the long run.
As I’m writing this I’ve reached a level of 62 — halfway through actually. I’m starting to get a little too high for the spiders in the Boyahda Tree, but I prefer it there as it is both safe and I can rake in gil from the coffers hidden deep within the dungeon.
Which reminds me. I’m sure you’ve seen chests and coffers spread out all over Vana’diel, and I’m also sure you’ve asked yourself where they come from or how they came to be. I’m here to share the secret: adventurers fall in battle from time to time, and the monsters inhabiting the area are quite the treasure hunters. They stop at nothing to keep the prrrecious treasure they’ve found safe from the many adventurers who travel through the area. But, from time to time the monsters who hold the key to these particular chests dies at the hand of a party, and loses the key in the process. Gil, items, armor and various other treats can usually be found in these chests — even magical maps of the area in question. But, certain monsters have come to exploit this fact, and disguise themselves in hopes of getting a fast and easy meal.
As a Beastmaster I get a few keys from time to time, which helps tremendously when I need to buy food or supplies when I visit town — which isn’t too often when I first set out on my Beastmaster journey. Now I only hope I can reach 63 soon and move on to a new place.
